The smarter skincare

Sponsored Review

It's been quite some while since i last reviewed on a sponsored product. Today, I've got some awesome stuffs for you all. They're none other than these two bottles of serums, namely Viccal and Hanamei. These skincare products were sponsored to me to try out for 1 whole month. After 4 weeks of continuous usage, i'm all ready to introduce these two serums to you all, netizens.

READY?!?

Photobucket

Let's get started!

There are a total of three collections for this VICCAL serum. I was given viccal serum 2.11(Detoxify & heal) as requested to test try for one whole month. A brief description of this viccal serum 2.11 product here: It is a calming serum which delivers detoxifying benefits to repair and renew skin's condition. On top of that, it also helps to reduce the appearance of inflammation and diminishes the visibility of pores over time, improving skin texture naturally.
You've got to choose the smarter skincare which suits your skin condition. I personally requested for this serum 2.11 for intially i felt that it will be a good try to experience the effects brought about by a serum which will first detoxify and then heal. Yes, i was not wrong after 4 weeks of continuous usage.

As we all know that there is bound to be toxics in our body. The reason for pimples outbreak could possibly be due to the toxics in our body. As the name of the viccal serum 2.11 goes - Detoxify & Heal. You will first undergo detoxification before the healing process. During the detoxification process, there is slight pimples outbreak on my face. I understand that it is irritating upon seeing pimples on your face, however FRET NOT, 'for the later part of the day is the healing process. After 1 month of usage, i noticed that my face is smoother with smaller pores. On top of that, there are also lesser blackheads. Although there are still slight pimples on my forehead, however this is inevitable as our body is constantly removing toxics. I believe with continuous usage, i will be able to see even more visible results!

This viccal serum is also recommended for skin conditions prone to breakouts, acne, mild eczema, blackheads, whiteheads and oil seeds. If you're experiencing such skin conditions, do give this serum a try!

Photobucket

As seen from the above photo, the viccal serum is similar to that of an iodine solution. Lightweight and convenient for you to bring along when overseas too!
Direction of use:Apply 3-4 drops twice daily after cleansing and before moisturising.

Photobucket

Check out my before and after photo.

Photobucket
My skin is smoother and of more radiance now.

Next up, i'm going to introduce you another product known as Hanamei.

Photobucket

This is a Hair Removal After-care Brightening Serum. It contains multiple botanical actives that help minimise ingrown hair while lightening skin that has been darkened by hair removal and micro-abrasion. This serum also moisturises skin to maintain smoothness and suppleness.
I believe this is one good purchase for most girls out there. Girls will find it annoying to wear sleeveless if they do not shave their underarms. You wouldn't want your image to be ruined if others spot your unshaved intimate areas like your underarms when you raise up your hands. Therefore, it is important to look presentable in front of others. After shaving/waxing, this hair removal after-care brightening serum can help to brighten the darken areas at your underarms, elbows and even suitable to be used on your kneecaps.
Overtime, you'll be able to see the results for yourself. And that is of course, smoother and fairer skin. Now you look good in front of others and this might possibly boost your confidence too.

Photobucket
Direction of use: Gently pat a few drops on the desired areas after cleansing. To see even more visible results, use twice daily and massage until serum is fully absorbed into skin.

Where can you purchase them?

Viccal: You can choose to call/email prior to orders or enquiries here.
Viccal is currently stocked at these two clinics. Check them out here.

Hanamei: Dial 6343 0157 for orders.

Thank you thesamplestore.sg, viccal and hanamei for this sponsorship!
That's for now.

The weekenders

Having frequent western and chinese restaurants, it's time for a new change of taste. This time round, we visited an indian restaurant under sok's recommendation. If you still remember i did mention in my previous entry about the palatable indian delicacies savoured at my friend's 21st party. It is simply heavenly delicious. Till now, i'm still missing it...

Finally, i had the chance to see the restaurant for myself. With the initial thought that this indian food is actually located at one of the stalls in coffeeshop, i was wrong. It is a restaurant by itself, air-conditioned and well-known for its varieties of indian delicacies. Quite a number of people patronize this restaurant according to sok. Indeed, we saw the crowd.
Photobucket
It took the waiter some time to serve us our food 'for it's almost full house in the restaurant. We were served with briyani, veggie and pumpkin. You get to choose between rice and briyani. Of course, we went for briyani. One good thing about having your meal in this restaurant is it's free flow for the briyani/rice, veggies and crackers. It seems like buffet though, but not entirely.
Photobucket
For other side dishes like mutton, chicken, potatoes etc, you'll have to order straight from the front stall. Fish head curry as gravy for your briyani adds on to the spice, just awesome! It completes the taste. If you're a spice-lover, you'll definitely love this meal.

Camera roll... Let's look through some of the photos taken for the day.

Photobucket

Not just western and chinese cuisines, we're loving indian delicacies too!!!!:)

Photobucket

This is how the inside of the restaurant looks like. Since it's not a foodcourt, the price is slightly more pricey, well, but definitely worth the meal. Each of us paid around 10 plus dollars for this hearty meal. As you can see, it is similar to normal restaurant food price.

Pamper yourself with varieties of indian food.
If you're interested in visiting this Karu's curry, it is located somewhere around bukit panjang area. You can take bus 67 straight from cck bus interchange and alight at the stop just outside the restaurant:)

Weekend Is MY LOVE!

Yet on another weekend, i met up with them as usual on the Saturday's evening. This time round, we went for finger lickin' treats at KFC.

Photobucket

Photobucket

A picture of me!

Thank you wk for being my photographer! haha. Love this shot. Do you find it familiar?;) I took this to participate in the recent KFC Sogood, Snap it contest on facebook. Hereby, i would like to express my gratitude once again to all supporters of mine. A BIG, SINCERE THANK YOU for all your votes. Much appreciated:)

If you've not voted, do help to vote for my entry! Thanks a million.

That's for now.

Recess week is gone in a blink of an eye!

Our long-awaited recess week is gone just like this. You can see how amazingly time flies. With the commencement of school after a short one week break, it's back to Monday blues now. well, but thankfully for the friday off. TGIF. Anyway, it wasn't that productive for me during recess week. We're supposed to use the break time to complete our assignments and do revision for test. However, first two days of my recess week were spent indulging in fun, haha! Now, i shall fill you in more about the fun part of my recess week. And yes, it's definitely playtime and not mugging time!

Dated back on 21st feb...

i met up with vivian, ling and yanni to shop for shu wen's birthday present. Guess where we head to? The frequent shopping areas are like Orchard, Bugis... etc. Orchard was our destination then. It wasn't a good find earlier after shopping around far east and so we continued on to some other shopping malls in orchard. Anddd... finally we set our sights on a bag from pretty fit. Lovely and suitable for our birthday girl. we have similar taste.

By the way, it was really coincident that day having to bump into another two friends of mine in orchard, when we were about to leave far east plaza.

we girls went to chill after few hours of shopping, didn't get anything for myself though... me and yanni went to try out this bubbletea shop @ wisma-Share tea. The flavour that i ordered has a strong tea flavour. Not bad though, but i still prefer koi. i'm also waiting to try gong cha one day! It wasn't so much of a shopping spree for us that day but rather to get shu wen's gift:) However one thing, cam-whoring session is inevitable, haha!

Photobucket

Love this vintage feel after editing. Recently, photobucket having new applications. Rather fun playing around with their new effects. nice. I'm loving the vintage and lomoish effect.

That's for monday with the shopping of gift:) Andddd soon the next day, it was flowers' ksession time cum premediated surprise plan for our birthday girl @ Marina Square. Check this out now!

Dated back on 22nd feb...

Photobucket

Before the commencement of our ksession, we visited this olio restaurant at marina square for lunch. That day, i brought along my dslr. I love using dslr in capturing food.

That day, i ordered this nasi padang meal despite being in a western restaurant. The rice tastes alright. i like the skewered chicken.

Soon after lunch, it was just nice for the three hours' of ksession. My friend earlier made reservation for a room and she also told the person that we'll be having a birthday celebration there. Little did we know that they actually went to the extent of helping us to decorate the room with balloons and a birthday banner. How sweet of them to do so. Thank you kbox.

The main lead for that day - SHU WEN!

Photobucket

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Glad she likes the bag.

And once again, we're going gaga over bad romance, poker face, but this time round with two new additions, telephone & paparazzi. haha.
Photobucket

we girls sure know how to have fun. That's one of the main reasons why i feel comfortable in this clique:) Love the girls. Glad to bump into them during my uni life. I know we'll have more interesting upcoming activities during semester break! well, but alone in school is good enough 'for we are always crapping non-stop! Am i right? tsktsk.

One other thing, we sure love kpop thrill. Ever since we formed this flowers clique, we've been to countless kbox sessions, of which most are priced at 8 nett and this time round even cheaper, 6 nett! Can you believe it? I'm wowed by this irresistible kbox deal. A pity promotion ending soon, around mid march if i'm not wrong.

Photobucket

To end off, a full clique photo:D

That's the first two entries for recess week. Next up, i'll be posting up my third entry soon. Stay tuned!

For now.

Naruwan, Welcome to Taiwan

Apologies netizens, this is seriously a delayed post. But still, it's up now:)

Having been to Malaysia, Hongkong, Bangkok, the next stop is Taiwan. An awesome 5D4N Taiwan trip to mark the start of the year 2011. A good start and may my family be blessed for this whole year. Despite the previous short semester break i had, my family and i managed to plan a short get-away to Taiwan. Yesh!!! It's Taiwan, the place that i've been longing to visit since few years back. Dreams come true. I finally got the chance to do so last semester break. You could imagine how eggciteddddd i was when it was nearing my Taiwan trip. We went during first week of january after the countdown. Our flight was Singapore Airlines and it was a nice flight with meals provided on board plane. This is the reason why i prefer SA to budget airlines 'for there are better services, media facilities and definitely more comfy seats. When it comes to long hours' flight, I'll definitely not go for budget airlines, haha.

Check out the first part of my video here as we bid farewell to Singapore and welcome Taiwan.
OFF THE CHECKPOINT TO OUR DESTINATION

Photobucket
How great it is to be able to bump into my idols first thing upon landing in Taiwan. Though it's only a poster... hahahahaha! Photo as keepsake, definitely!!!;)

There's no time to waste when you're overseas. Every minute counts, especially when it comes to this food and shopping paradise, Taiwan. I believe most must have heard about the ravings of food in Taiwan. You can never have enough of them. Alone the streets down Xi Men Ding, you can see hell loads of stalls, selling all sorts of Taiwan delicacies you can ever find. In particular to this Ah Zhong's mian xian which i would like to recommend it to you. This is one of the best food i've savoured in Taiwan. It is heavenly delicious, keeping one warm during the winter season. The taste is lingering in my mouth now. The thought of it every now and then makes me feel like teleporting back to Taiwan to have another bowl again. The interesting thing about having this Ah Zhong's mian xian is that there's no proper tables and chairs for you to have your meal. You'll have to stand to eat. Despite that, there's still hordes of crowd queueing for the food. I'll be updating you more about this food paradise in another entry.

Speaking of shopping, Taiwan is no doubt a shopping paradise. To me, food still rank top, then shopping. The reason being some of the items are still exorbitant or of similar price to Singapore's. Definitely if you were to make comparison to Bangkok's shopping paradise, Bangkok's one is dirt cheap! Well, but i'm not saying that Taiwan's shopping is not good. I still enjoy and indulge in its shopping paradise during my stay there. Perhaps, partly it is due to the winter season and i can't find those normal t-shirts when i was there during that season. Nevertheless, i got my accessories, bags, shoes, light winter wears (both tops and bottoms)...etc) Bags and shoes are best buys in Taiwan. I bought a checkered design sling bag as well as a black school bag and they cost around sing dollars 9 plus each. Shoes are also going at around this price. Near 10 sing dollars for a pair. So worth the buy given the cheappppp price! My shopaholic fever is back always when i'm overseas.

I love my bags and shoes' designs! Now i can wear flats to school.

With that, check out the second part of my Taiwan's video to find out more about the hot spots we visited in Taipei.

You must not miss out Shilin Night Market, Xi Men Ding, Dan shui...etc if you ever visit Taiwan. There are many more places for us to explore and we've yet to even comb the entire Taipei. Just alone Taipei is 6 times larger than our Singapore! Oh my goodness. Imagine if Singapore is this big, you'll have endless shoppings each day...

A quick post for now. That's for the shopping paradise in the video, more of the food recommendations in another entry. Stay tune. Watch this space.

That's for now.

Bestie turns 21:D

It's high time i blog another entry again, tsktsk!

Speaking of birthday partys this year, in particular to twenty-first celebration, my bestie is the first among us to hit 21. Time flies. In the blink of an eye, we're going into the third year of celebration for her. However, this year's was a different one for it's a lifetime most important birthday celebration - she's finally hitting her twenty-first!!!:D Another best part of it was, her birthday coincidentally fell on chinese new year. Twenty first cum chinese new year celebration! A good sign. Double Blessing in this rabbit year!

And so, i went early with wk and joyce on that day to help her out with the preparation before the commencement of her party. We blew some balloons for decor. At the same time, indulging in her house bak gua and crapping jokes as usual. It was a fun, enjoyable process having to help out our bestie prepare for her twenty-first. Though we didn't get to do much for her... Hope you don't mind, girl!
Photobucket

Photobucket

Apart from her 21st birthday celebration, we were also celebrating her grandma's birthday together with hers. So, you could imagine how lively the whole atmosphere was then with both celebrations in the house! And having both birthdays falling on chinese new year! Such a coincidence!

Below are some photos captured before the commencement of my friend's party.
Photobucket
Since there's no crowd yet, it's best to cam-whore! haha!
Photobucket
Photobucket
Buffet set up beforehand, awaiting guests' arrival.
Photobucket

How could we possibly miss out a shot of birthday girl herself?!? haha.

Around noon time, the guests arrived. The party began. Time to indulge in the buffets!!!!
Photobucket

A varieties of food. There's also a mixture of chinese and indian food for you to choose from. Guess what, we went for........ INDIAN FOOD! It was sok's strong recommendation! As such, we went to try out the indian food first. There's mutton, briyani, curry veggie, fish head curry etc... The indian delicacies are simply marvellous! The spice is damn shiok! There is no way you can ever resist the temptation not to have it the second time! HEAVENLY DELICIOUS!

Afterwhich, we shared a plate of chinese food. Love the prawns dipped in sauce. wk love the shark fin and he had three bowls of that. I'm not one who really fancy shark fin soup, so i only had a spoonful of it that day. well, not that bad actually! haha.

Before i forget to mention, sok is really good at making mua chee! She personally made mua chee for her guests on her party. So sweet of birthday girl to do so. And her mua chee is delicious! Seriously, we were all like gluttons that day! First was mua chee, then indian food and chinese food then back to indian food again. I'm seriously missing the palatable indian delicacies now... Wanna' have it again another day!
Photobucket

At the same time, we guys also met up with other junior college friends during sok's party and we took some photos as keepsake. Sometimes, it's good to have common friends 'for we get the chance to catch up with one another during this kind of party, be it a short while. It was also nice mingling around with her poly friends. Despite us being older than them by few years, we managed to get along well together and ended up playing gambling cards, haha! Still in the mood of the festive season... The usual thing most will do during cny.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOK TING! (It's still your birthday month)

HOPE YOU HAD A BLAST 21ST!

Be blessed, girl!

Pamper yourself with Love More Mask

Sponsored Review

Parcel came knocking at my door not long this month. Feeling elated upon receiving my couriered parcel 'for i'm sponsored with Taiwan's Love More masks by samplestore this time round. Yesh!!!! Masks are girls' best friends, especially during this period when Chinese New Year is on its way! I'll definitely want to keep my face in tip top condition to welcome this new year! I'm so glad i'm actually sponsored with masks. You came just at the right time!

Photobucket
Have you heard about the highly raved facial masks from Taiwan? They're known as Love More Mask, which also comes in 3D form. Love More is one of the best selling brand in Taiwan at current.
Photobucket
I was lucky enough to be sponsored with three different boxes of Love More Mask, namely Alps Spring & Phytoncide Moisturizing mask, Provence Lavender nighttime whitening mask as well as Rose Crystal & Tourmaline Peptide Moisturizing Duo Lifting mask. Endorsed by Taiwan's actress -Tiffany Hsu Wei-ning 许玮宁. If you've watched Autumn's concerto《下一站幸福》, you'll know that she is one of the main actresses in the show.

Tiffany Hsu Wei-ning

Apart from this Love More Taiwan endorser, we also have Love More Hongkong endorser, Kary Wu, who gave good comments on these masks.

Kary Wu 吳雨霏

As quoted from Kary's blog, she mentioned this "To babes who want to become prettier, let us enjoy "LOVE MORE MASK's" Magic!!"

Fantastic isn't it?!

I can't wait to try them out and see the effects for myself!!!

Today, i'm going to recommend these two masks to you, of which are my preferred ones among the three.

First and foremost, is this Provence Lavender Nighttime Whitening Mask. This lavender mask helps to relax your skin during the night time and maximizes your skin's blood circulation.

Photobucket

The key attributes of this product are:

  • Whitening and Brightening
  • Supple feel
  • Oil-control
    Photobucket

Directions of use:

  1. Fit the mask onto your face
  2. Remove the mask after 15-20 minutes
  3. Pat your skin lightly to allow remaining residue to be absorbed.
When first applied, the mask was actually tight fitting but there wasn't any discomfort. It is just nice to cover the entire face. There's quite a lot of essence so you can leave for absorption after removing the mask. I could feel it rejuvenating its effect on my skin. I'm definitely feeling more refreshed after using it. For just once, i'm already seeing effect to my skin. Rather instant effect, i would say. My skin is now smoother, fairer due to the whitening effect. On top of that, it's good at oil control too. Love the whitening effect♥♥

Next, i'm recommending you this 3D mask. I've never tried 3D masks before, hence, it was rather an exciting first attempt for me, tsktsk!

Photobucket

This 3D mask comes with ear hooks and it covers not just only your face, but also part of your neck. It's definitely tight-fitting with the hooks.

The key attributes of this product are:

  • Brighten dullness skin
  • Enhance moisture level to your skin
  • Promote collagen synthesis, increase skin elasticity

Photobucket

Directions of use:

  1. Fit the mask onto your face.
  2. Pull the hooks at the two sides to your ears.
  3. Pull the hook at the chin up to your ears.
  4. You can massage your face while waiting for your mask for 15-20 minutes to maximise absorption.

I love this piece of 3D mask too! Similar to the previous one, it rejuvenates its effect on me instantly. It brightens my skin and enhances the moisture level in my skin. My skin is now smoother and fairer! Due to this tight-fitting mask(with the additional ear hooks), it also has this lifting up effect which i feel it's a plus point!

Photobucket

Love More mask also comes with good packaging. Just look at the packaging alone for individual piece! So sweet and kawaii!!!

If you're interested in purchasing this Love more mask from Taiwan, it's available exclusively in Watsons.

Price of Love more mask:
3D Mask (5 pieces) - $ 8.90
Mask (5 pieces) - $7.90

Alternatively, you can also redeem the love more sample from thesamplestore webpage. The sample is free but with standard postage fees applied. So hurry, grab yours now!!!

Now i'm ALL READY for CNY!!!

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR ALL! Be BLESSED in this rabbit year:D

The trend is back during semester break.

Usually after a semester, we'll try to organize a senior cum junior day outing to catch up with one another, in particular with our seniors! This is the norm for cds. On a happier note, i'm glad it once again went on smoothly as planned. Considered successful huh though it's only a small group. It's always the usual few who are available and agreeable to this outing, hence, we decided to keep it small this time round. Nevertheless, there was endless fun with them all that day.
Photobucket
Early in the morning, Jie ying agreed to meet us up for a morning breakfast 'for Sok will have to leave after 11am once again. Thanks Jie ying for being willing to meet up this early with us, haha! Sorry to deprive you from your sleep, lol.
As my friend got to leave early, we must definitely capture some photos with her and Jie ying as keepsake. As for me, i decided to leave more phototakings towards the later part of the day since i'll be with her and the rest throughout the afternoon and evening time:)

Soon after leaving lot one, my friends and i proceeded on to our next stop, Buona Vista, to meet eileen and later on meet fang xuan straight at Holland Village for EVERYTHING WITH FRIES! If you still remember, in one of my previous entries, i did mention about this western cafe restaurant which serves delectable western food. This time round, i'm back to this place again for it's also one of my suggestions!
Photobucket
They have all the starters, main courses, desserts...etc written on the wall. It looks as though it was written with white chalk on the old kind of blackboards in school. Nice interior design.
Photobucket
These were what we've ordered that day. eileen went for this breaded king salmon main course. The salmon tastes okay, but we all feel that the sauce that comes along doesn't go very well with the salmon. Next time round, we shall just do away with its sauce. we couldn't make out what sauce is it either after tasting it.
Photobucket
my friend brought along another small accessory-like camera and we all were fascinated with it. Note, this is not a fake camera! It is REAL and it works on those kind of films, whereby after you've captured, you'll have to wash out the films in order to see those photos. Somewhat like the old type of cameras but with a more artistic design! How interesting, isn't it?

After a fulfilling lunch at Everything with fries, we proceeded on to our 3rd stop for the day, which is Haji Lane. I've never been there before but heard others raving about this place.
Photobucket
This is Haji Lane. It is located somewhere near bugis area, but you'll have to walk a stretch of road. Haji Lane is more like rows of shophouses as you can see from the above photo.
Photobucket
Some random shots captured in the shops in Haji Lane. It was more like a window-shopping for me in the end 'for i didn't get a single piece for myself. i'm just not in the shopping mood nowadays, lol. Except when i'm overseas, i'll then go all out for a shopping spree there!

We managed to comb the whole Haji Lane 'for it isn't that big. Soon after that, we proceeded on to Iluma for a tea time break. Our legs were almost breaking and we were all tired out from the long walk. we went to this ice-cream dessert place to chill.

Photobucket
And again it's CAM-WHORING TIME!!!!!

Great day out with the seniors once again! Andd this time round, we have more seniors joining us! The more, the merrier! Thank you seniors for all the fun and do take care! We shall be seeing you guys some other days again, most probably after the end of next semester! That's our cds trend, isn't it?:)

That's for now.
