Coffee club was our second try for a new taste of high tea in other coffee houses. For ambience wise, this is definitely a cosy, ambience place with nice lightings and comfy seats in the restaurant. Somewhat on par with tcc which i've been twice before with another group of friends. Me and Deb explored our second coffee house (The Coffee Club) a couple of days ago. i chanced upon this tea de-lites promotion on its website and was tempted by their appealing tea delights images. However, in the end, it wasn't as planned. Both of us ended spending not only on desserts, but on ala carte main course as well as drink, exceeded our budget by a huge line. It's still alright to be a spendthrift once in a while, but definitely not ALWAYS. If not, we will really go broke at this rate (*laughs*) This was the main course which i've ordered. The sauce wasn't to my liking. i only love the grilled fish with the seasonings. Somehow, i preferred deb's tom yam sauce more than my own one. This ice vanilla mocha here is nice. A chef recommendation. (There's a vanilla ice-cream float on top of it) Main course was over and it was not long before we started ordering our dessert. Muddy mud pie, a dessert which i've long wanted to try. My friend also recommended me this dessert at coffee club, saying that it was yummy. However, having this muddy mud pie was somewhat a horrendous experience for me and deb. You can easily see it from our captured photo of mud pie above. Do not be scared off by this first. Mud pie isn't as bad as what you've seen at first sight from my photo if you've yet to try. Let me do the explanation here. We actually asked for a bit more chocolate syrup and the dessert chef ended up giving us a whole pool of chocolate. Deb, who is a chocolate-lover can't even take this sweetness. Unless you reallyyy have a sweet tooth, you can still go all out to ask for more.
Anyway, it wouldn't be this bad if we've never asked for more syrup. A lesson learnt. Real fulfilling lunch, more like an early dinner instead. That's for dinner as well. Time to work out and burn off the huge intake of calories. It's shopping spree time after our meals at coffee club. Freshened up ourselves in the toilet and captured a few shots before proceeding off to heeren and far east plaza to hunt for shoes. It wasn't window-shopping; we didn't go home empty-handed! i love the shoes which i've bought at far east's mimosa. it kinda matches my newly bought charles and keith bag.
Recently, i've been a shopaholic! I'm spending as though like a drunken sailor. Also, i finally bought my long-desired gadget, an ipod touch. Still figuring out the functions in it. There's still much to learn...
Signing off from here now. Stay tune to the next upcoming blog entry of mine.

Multiple shots, aha's ritual norm. Unglam shots, inevitable...well, but to maintain a good image of ourselves, i should try to avoid uploading them here (*laughs*) It's another aha's outing once again last sunday. Initially was planning to go zoo with them after my tuition, fortunately it didn't turn out as planned. i gave it a miss in the end. Anyway, that's not just how i'm going to spend my sunday after tuition idling and lazing around back at home. Initial plan was changed due to some unforseen circumstances. The rest of them did continue their zoo trip and me and dor changed to meeting them in the evening for a dinner instead. we indulged in high tea session once again, this time round more like a night-tea session! haha. Mocha Chips New*, my favourite at mc cafe now. Once again, it's not a full clique outing. One is missing in action!!
And as you can see the above two combined pictures are taken with different gadgets. The first combined piece was taken with my samsung omnia II and the second one was by deb's lumix digital camera. Definitely, the turn-out of the photo and its quality will be different between using a camera phone and a digital camera. Speaking of digitial camera, i've this urge to buy a new one for myself. i'm disappointed with my old lumix camera for the quality of photos isn't up to standard. You can usually see i don't bring my camera out most of the times. Any good recommendations? (Actually i do have one in mind, but it's a bit expensive.) Thank you to this kind person who helped us take this group photo at mc cafe that day. We were having second thoughts on whether to approach this man here to help us take a picture 'cause he was busy chatting away with his girlfriend and we wouldn't want to disturb their lovey-dovey couple chats. But still, in the end, we approached him...
i'm satisfied with this group snapshot, with everyone showing our radiant smile, haha...
Time flies, May is coming to an end soon and june is drawing near. Anyway, i would most probably not be going for my bangkok trip. We've asked for a refund from jetstar airlines and the hotels in bangkok. Fortunately, the hotels in bangkok acceded to our request and they will refund us our money within a month, phew. And for jetstar airlines, most probably we will get our refund back either by vouchers or full cash refund payment. Of course, cash will be better! i just hope the money will be credited into my bank account soon...in a month's time... Seriously it's such a hassle to cancel your trip when the country that you're intending to go happens to be in a chaos state. Dampens one's spirit. Luck just isn't on our side. i would say we're just not fated to go bangkok together. However on the flipside of the coin, to think it positively, giving this trip a miss would serve us better rather than risking our life by making a trip there. Well, there will be plenty of chances in future...
More activities coming up the next two days. Gonna' meet deb tml to try out The Coffee Club's new promotion of Tea- DeLites at Raffles Place, Just Acia's(probably) dinner during the night along with xiaoli as well as coming's thursday wild wild wet with sok and deb:D Saturated with happiness!!! Looking forward:)
That's for now. Signing off from this entry... Stay happy and cheerful always, my motto continues. Enjoy life to your fullest, peeps!

Sushi buffet was more for our lunch cum dinner for the whole buffet lasted for three hours (3pm-6pm). We left on the dot. Not to say that we ate throughout the 3 hours, in fact, we did not. We were busy chatting, laughing away and self-snapping shots at the same time. Speaking of the buffet, we were a bit pissed off when we were charged additional cost for the wastage. It wasn't that much but have no idea why the waiter charged us for additional two plates of food. It was unfair because i don't think we should be charged that much. Alright, shall not ponder over this matter. Let bygones be bygones.
Initially we intend to have only desserts or ice-cream during the late night. Just wanna' have something cold and find a good ambience place to chill-out. In the end, we went over to Starbucks to have something hot instead. We ordered cafe mocha and cappuccino tall. Cappuccino tasted bitter and we added some sugar to sweeten the taste. It didn't help much though...Cafe mocha was so much better and the choco powder enhanced the taste.
Finding a good ambience place to chill out along with a freshly brewed cup of coffee in starbucks during the night with companion of your good friend was an enjoyable night spent on that wednesday. Somehow, Deb and me felt that we were like enjoying taitai's life for once...(*laughs*) Without pleasure and enjoyment, life would be arid. Enjoy life to the fullest and don't waste every little bit of it. For me, my goal of life isn't like ultimate wealth, a massive amount of stuffs or having the most perfect car and house in reality. More importantly is to savour and enjoy every moment of life in pursuit of fun and happiness. So long as i'm doing things that i enjoy doing or to my interest, i'm contented. Every single meet-up session with friends matters a lot to me. i'm someone who treasure family ties and friendship a lot. i love heart-to-heart talks with friends when we're out and that's the most memorable part that will be deeply etched in my mind after our outings. And i'm thankful that most of my friends are those who belonged to the same category as me, who are there to share my woes, to lend me a listening ear and we feel very comfortable with one another, talking almost everything under the sun.
That's life to me and i'm feeling contented with my current status quo. i'm quite a blessed girl.
That's for now.Saturday, May 15, 2010
The Last Song
The Last Song is set in a small Southern beach town where an estranged father (Greg Kinnear) gets a chance to spend a summer with his reluctant teenaged daughter (Miley Cyrus) who'd rather be home in New York. He tries to reconnect with her through the only thing they have in common -music, in a story of family, friendship, secret and salvation, along with first loves and second chances. Here's the trailer of the movie
I felt that "The Last Song" was an average-rated show. The story plot is mundane, revolving around the usual family, friendship and relationship problems. With the intial thought that this would be a romance movie, i was actually partly wrong. It revolves around more towards kinship with a twist towards the end of the story. The ending was touching and there's this young boy character who acted well in "The Last Song". i felt so. His emotions are really there and most of the times, i was touched as i was watching his part especially when he teared badly upon discovering his father's critical condition and having not much time left as the father was diagnosed with cancer...
As you can see that it's a sad story towards the ending. The dad passed away. i was affected by that and i teared too... we are all human beings and we do have emotions... Life is fragile, just like how "The Last Song" story plot has depicted in the movie. More importantly, we ought to treasure the ones around us, our families of the utmost importance here and our friends....

PJ's Masquerade (12th May)
Venue: NUS University Cultural Centre (UCC)
Time: 7.30pm
What's wrong with the snapshots captured outside UCC?!? erm, i guess i've forgotten to use the red-eye reduction mode. My eyes seem to be burning with *inferno*, laughs! And well in another shot, i simply forgotten to turn on flashlight; thus, i look like a total black figurine! Still, these two failed-attempt shots are uploaded here simply because i like the "I" wording carved outside UCC. It's lovely. They actually have this whole statement: " I WAS HERE" right outside the entrance. Coincidentally, apart from me and joyce who went for this pj's masquerade concert, we bumped into our juniors, tingmin and borui. It's been ages since we last saw them. OMG!!! What a coincidence! Therefore, we definitely have to leave some shots behind as memories... (They sat right behind us!)
There were dance, choir as well as drama performances. Solely from all the performing arts group. i especially like this remix hip hop dance by the dancers up on stage. They danced along with this song "sorry sorry", imitating the famous korean dance troupe, super junior's dance movements in that song. Apart from the hip hop dance, i felt that the first item up on stage, "Sama Tak Serupa" by the Malay cultural society was a unique dance cheorographed. The pj choir had their ever longest performance, lasting up to 50 mins after the intermission with the whole of second half belonging to them. They performed songs under themes like "The Lion King", " Aladdin" etc along with the alumni's segment. Bits of drama are incorporated inside, making it more lively throughout the whole "Magnificence" performance of theirs. Speaking about my own chinese drama performance, i felt that our juniors did a great job in bringing out the emotions in the individual's character. One thing i don't quite understand is why are the audience laughing most of the times during the play. It's supposed to be a sad story. i wonder whether they're making a mockery out of it simply 'cause they don't appreciate drama plays or have they really enjoyed our drama performance...
Overall, the masquerade concert was a success! A great one, i felt so. Glad to have this opportunity to return back as a senior to root for my fellow pj's juniors in their performances.

Holidays are always the best part of my life. The only time when i really get to slower down my pace, take a good look at things around me and spend more time with my family and friends. It's almost ages since i last met up with Jasmine. Finally, we get to meet up yesterday and had a great day spent over movie, arcade and a simple dinner.
After years of dating, Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) has decided waiting for the right one is taking too long. Determined to become a mother, she commits to a plan, makes an appointment and decides to go it alone. On the day of her artificial insemination, Zoe meets Stan (Alex O'Loughlin) -a man with real possibilities.
Trying to nurture a budding relationship and hide the early signs of pregnancy becomes a comedy of errors for Zoe and creates confusing signals for Stan. When Zoe nervously reveals the reason for her unpredictable behavior, Stan commits fully and says he's in.
Never before has love seen a courtship where a wild night of sex involves three in a bed - Stan, Zoe and the ever-present massive pregnancy pillow. Or, where "date night" consists of being the "focal point" at a near-stranger's water birth which does for kiddie pools what "Jaws" did for swimming in the ocean.
The real pregnancy test comes when both of them realize they really do not know each other outside of hormonal chaos and birth preparations. With the nine month clock ticking, both begin to experience cold feet. Anyone can fall in love, get married and have a baby but doing it backwards in hyper-drive could be proof positive that they were made for each other.
Cast: Jennifer Lopez, Alex O'Loughlin, Noureen DeWulf.
Personally, i felt that this is quite an entertaining movie with essence of comical contents in it. i watched the 3.50pm timeslot over at jurong point's golden village with Jasmine yesterday. Intially i suggested D13, the Ultimatum which is a NC 16 show with some violence contents. The sad thing is they only have this available timeslot at 6.15pm which is quite a late session. And we changed to Back Up Plan. i didn't regret my choice watching that. It's a nice, sweet romance comedy. Some of the parts are hilarious and somewhat exaggerating. well, but all these funny and exaggerated parts will tickle you and make one burst into laughters as you're watching. It's a public place though, and i kept to my composure. But inside me, i was tickled by those funny scenes.
So what's up after movie... Jasmine suggested going to arcade and she recommended me this newer version of Bishi Bashi game where players have to help each other to meet the scores so as to move on to the next stage. There's a total of 22 stages, but sadly, we didn't manage to clear all. i'm still a noob at this new game, trying to get the hang out of it.

A carefree day
Part one of the day
1st of May, 2010 is coincidentally my cousin's birthday as well as labour day! i always like public holiday falling on weekends, especially saturday. You might be wondering why 'cause usually saturday is as well a weekend break for most. Unlike for me, i have to help my boss out on saturday, hence, most of my times were devoted to mindmatters instead. I've been waiting for this labour day for quite some while. It's time to take a one day break off from my hectic sat! How wonderful!
Anyway, this is not an entry about the birthday celebration with my cousin, instead, we actually had pre-advance Mother's Day celebration. Allow me to further elaborate on this wonderful day of mine!
Dad, me and bro brought mum to causeway point to indulge in a sumptuous lunch. It was a late lunch though. Mum had cravings for pizza, and so, we accede to her request and went for this feista combo meal, inclusive of a crunchy cheesy bites pizza, one regular pan pizza accompanied with drinks and soup of the day. All of us went for berri sparkle instead of summer sparkle. Thirst-quenching! This new crunchy cheesy bites pizza tasted not bad. i love the cheesy part with cornflakes on it.
This was the fried dory fish i ordered. $9.90++ main course.
i really enjoyed my day. It was a good break. An opportunity for me to spend more time with my families and friends. If only it could be like this every saturday. Alright, i should not ask for that much. Actually i do feel contented helping out over at mindmatters for i've a bunch of funny colleagues over there who tends to tickle me with their lame jokes at times.
It was a carefree day spent last saturday, with no tuition, no work, free from studies stress, purely just devoting my time to my precious family and friends. I love you all. The significance of your presence.
i'm a happy girl!♥
