Waterworks`

The past whole week had been a whole load of fun with different groups of friends. First was the meet-up with my ahas for a dinner gathering, second was a visit to coffee house for tea delights and the one which i'm blogging now is with regards to the wild wild wet trip with sok and deb on 27th May. I've got free tickets to downtown east's wild wild wet and so along with my playmate companions, we set off to wild wild wet! The weather was good that day, given the fact that we were going swimming and it's not raining. No doubt we were suffering from oppressive heat 'cause the weather was super humid and hot, hence it makes the best choice to dip yourself in the pool under this kind of weather. It has been quite some while since i last went wild wild wet. The last visit was about 8 months ago, during mid-june last year... Everything was intact, not much changes to it except for some child's play facilities where they are undergoing some small renovations there. This professor's playground here was our second stop after the Ular-La. Ular-La is my favourite there and on that day we the three girls managed to have the whole big float to ourselves without sharing seats with others. Sok was smart enough to notice the camera that wild wild wet has installed in some corner of the slide and she was making funny faces at it as we were sliding down. In the end, it was captured. During the second time when we took the slide once again, me and deb did not fail to make funny faces at it...it turns out to be really funny, especially my big darlie smile... Looks funny though..

we didn't really went to play every single facilities out there. Instead of having fun at the different facilities, we were actually more engrossed into our own chit chatty session, our own girls' talk. we sat down near the pool area where there will be waves every 30 mins. It was a good spot to chit chat when it's not wave time and we simply just talked about everything under the sun. It's so comfortable talking with them. There's not even the slightest restriction. Love my favourite girlfriends. After our swim, we were hungry and we went to kfc to share a meal before bathing. We ordered a set of two-piece chicken meal to share. we wanted something that's not so full for we will be having dinner back at home and for deb she's meeting her friends for dinner elsewhere too. Sok helped us order the food and intially she wanted to treat us. i refused. She has been giving me treats a few times and i'm feeling a little bad about it. Maybe for the next time, it should be my turn to do so...(haha) Don't reject my offer, alright.

It was a great day spent at wild wild wet! Though we only had few hours together, good times were spent! i had hell loads of fun with my two lovely girlfriends. Chatting is really our forte. we can simply sit down there, going on and on with countless topics with one another. And i'm glad that most of my friends shared the same interest as me, tsktsk...
That's for now.

Extravagant yet highly pleasing delights

Coffee club was our second try for a new taste of high tea in other coffee houses. For ambience wise, this is definitely a cosy, ambience place with nice lightings and comfy seats in the restaurant. Somewhat on par with tcc which i've been twice before with another group of friends. Me and Deb explored our second coffee house (The Coffee Club) a couple of days ago. i chanced upon this tea de-lites promotion on its website and was tempted by their appealing tea delights images. However, in the end, it wasn't as planned. Both of us ended spending not only on desserts, but on ala carte main course as well as drink, exceeded our budget by a huge line. It's still alright to be a spendthrift once in a while, but definitely not ALWAYS. If not, we will really go broke at this rate (*laughs*) This was the main course which i've ordered. The sauce wasn't to my liking. i only love the grilled fish with the seasonings. Somehow, i preferred deb's tom yam sauce more than my own one. This ice vanilla mocha here is nice. A chef recommendation. (There's a vanilla ice-cream float on top of it) Main course was over and it was not long before we started ordering our dessert. Muddy mud pie, a dessert which i've long wanted to try. My friend also recommended me this dessert at coffee club, saying that it was yummy. However, having this muddy mud pie was somewhat a horrendous experience for me and deb. You can easily see it from our captured photo of mud pie above. Do not be scared off by this first. Mud pie isn't as bad as what you've seen at first sight from my photo if you've yet to try. Let me do the explanation here. We actually asked for a bit more chocolate syrup and the dessert chef ended up giving us a whole pool of chocolate. Deb, who is a chocolate-lover can't even take this sweetness. Unless you reallyyy have a sweet tooth, you can still go all out to ask for more.

Anyway, it wouldn't be this bad if we've never asked for more syrup. A lesson learnt. Real fulfilling lunch, more like an early dinner instead. That's for dinner as well. Time to work out and burn off the huge intake of calories. It's shopping spree time after our meals at coffee club. Freshened up ourselves in the toilet and captured a few shots before proceeding off to heeren and far east plaza to hunt for shoes. It wasn't window-shopping; we didn't go home empty-handed! i love the shoes which i've bought at far east's mimosa. it kinda matches my newly bought charles and keith bag.

Recently, i've been a shopaholic! I'm spending as though like a drunken sailor. Also, i finally bought my long-desired gadget, an ipod touch. Still figuring out the functions in it. There's still much to learn...

Signing off from here now. Stay tune to the next upcoming blog entry of mine.

A smile costs nothing but gives much

Multiple shots, aha's ritual norm. Unglam shots, inevitable...well, but to maintain a good image of ourselves, i should try to avoid uploading them here (*laughs*) It's another aha's outing once again last sunday. Initially was planning to go zoo with them after my tuition, fortunately it didn't turn out as planned. i gave it a miss in the end. Anyway, that's not just how i'm going to spend my sunday after tuition idling and lazing around back at home. Initial plan was changed due to some unforseen circumstances. The rest of them did continue their zoo trip and me and dor changed to meeting them in the evening for a dinner instead. we indulged in high tea session once again, this time round more like a night-tea session! haha. Mocha Chips New*, my favourite at mc cafe now. Once again, it's not a full clique outing. One is missing in action!!

And as you can see the above two combined pictures are taken with different gadgets. The first combined piece was taken with my samsung omnia II and the second one was by deb's lumix digital camera. Definitely, the turn-out of the photo and its quality will be different between using a camera phone and a digital camera. Speaking of digitial camera, i've this urge to buy a new one for myself. i'm disappointed with my old lumix camera for the quality of photos isn't up to standard. You can usually see i don't bring my camera out most of the times. Any good recommendations? (Actually i do have one in mind, but it's a bit expensive.) Thank you to this kind person who helped us take this group photo at mc cafe that day. We were having second thoughts on whether to approach this man here to help us take a picture 'cause he was busy chatting away with his girlfriend and we wouldn't want to disturb their lovey-dovey couple chats. But still, in the end, we approached him...

i'm satisfied with this group snapshot, with everyone showing our radiant smile, haha...

Time flies, May is coming to an end soon and june is drawing near. Anyway, i would most probably not be going for my bangkok trip. We've asked for a refund from jetstar airlines and the hotels in bangkok. Fortunately, the hotels in bangkok acceded to our request and they will refund us our money within a month, phew. And for jetstar airlines, most probably we will get our refund back either by vouchers or full cash refund payment. Of course, cash will be better! i just hope the money will be credited into my bank account soon...in a month's time... Seriously it's such a hassle to cancel your trip when the country that you're intending to go happens to be in a chaos state. Dampens one's spirit. Luck just isn't on our side. i would say we're just not fated to go bangkok together. However on the flipside of the coin, to think it positively, giving this trip a miss would serve us better rather than risking our life by making a trip there. Well, there will be plenty of chances in future...

More activities coming up the next two days. Gonna' meet deb tml to try out The Coffee Club's new promotion of Tea- DeLites at Raffles Place, Just Acia's(probably) dinner during the night along with xiaoli as well as coming's thursday wild wild wet with sok and deb:D Saturated with happiness!!! Looking forward:)

That's for now. Signing off from this entry... Stay happy and cheerful always, my motto continues. Enjoy life to your fullest, peeps!

The pleasure and enjoyment in life

Yet another enjoyable and memorable day spent with deb on wednesday...i satisfy my cravings for sushi. After few failed attempts of asking friends out for sushi buffet, yesterday's one was finally a success! That's with my partner, deb who agreed to go on a sushi buffet date with me, haha... Sushi Indulgence for the day.The first few favourite side dishes that we've ordered were ebi fry, soft shell crab roll, fried tofu (BEST), salmon kamage etc. i was quite full after having these first few plates, couldn't understand why for i didn't have any lunch either. Wonder what's wrong with my appetite... It was not long before we became full and we started capturing some snapshots in the restaurant. It was more like a break for us before we continue our second round of buffet... Somehow, i was "fascinated" by the utensils, plate cover and cup around me and started trying out different angle shots with them, making them appear to be larger than actual. i'm just being bored (*laughs*) Deb followed suit soon after... And here we have a whole series of funny weird shots in our most creative ways... Which is the best entry here, you decide:DA more proper one for now...

Sushi buffet was more for our lunch cum dinner for the whole buffet lasted for three hours (3pm-6pm). We left on the dot. Not to say that we ate throughout the 3 hours, in fact, we did not. We were busy chatting, laughing away and self-snapping shots at the same time. Speaking of the buffet, we were a bit pissed off when we were charged additional cost for the wastage. It wasn't that much but have no idea why the waiter charged us for additional two plates of food. It was unfair because i don't think we should be charged that much. Alright, shall not ponder over this matter. Let bygones be bygones.

Initially we intend to have only desserts or ice-cream during the late night. Just wanna' have something cold and find a good ambience place to chill-out. In the end, we went over to Starbucks to have something hot instead. We ordered cafe mocha and cappuccino tall. Cappuccino tasted bitter and we added some sugar to sweeten the taste. It didn't help much though...Cafe mocha was so much better and the choco powder enhanced the taste.

Finding a good ambience place to chill out along with a freshly brewed cup of coffee in starbucks during the night with companion of your good friend was an enjoyable night spent on that wednesday. Somehow, Deb and me felt that we were like enjoying taitai's life for once...(*laughs*) Without pleasure and enjoyment, life would be arid. Enjoy life to the fullest and don't waste every little bit of it. For me, my goal of life isn't like ultimate wealth, a massive amount of stuffs or having the most perfect car and house in reality. More importantly is to savour and enjoy every moment of life in pursuit of fun and happiness. So long as i'm doing things that i enjoy doing or to my interest, i'm contented. Every single meet-up session with friends matters a lot to me. i'm someone who treasure family ties and friendship a lot. i love heart-to-heart talks with friends when we're out and that's the most memorable part that will be deeply etched in my mind after our outings. And i'm thankful that most of my friends are those who belonged to the same category as me, who are there to share my woes, to lend me a listening ear and we feel very comfortable with one another, talking almost everything under the sun.

That's life to me and i'm feeling contented with my current status quo. i'm quite a blessed girl.

That's for now.

The Last Song

The Last Song

The Last Song is set in a small Southern beach town where an estranged father (Greg Kinnear) gets a chance to spend a summer with his reluctant teenaged daughter (Miley Cyrus) who'd rather be home in New York. He tries to reconnect with her through the only thing they have in common -music, in a story of family, friendship, secret and salvation, along with first loves and second chances. Here's the trailer of the movie

I felt that "The Last Song" was an average-rated show. The story plot is mundane, revolving around the usual family, friendship and relationship problems. With the intial thought that this would be a romance movie, i was actually partly wrong. It revolves around more towards kinship with a twist towards the end of the story. The ending was touching and there's this young boy character who acted well in "The Last Song". i felt so. His emotions are really there and most of the times, i was touched as i was watching his part especially when he teared badly upon discovering his father's critical condition and having not much time left as the father was diagnosed with cancer...

As you can see that it's a sad story towards the ending. The dad passed away. i was affected by that and i teared too... we are all human beings and we do have emotions... Life is fragile, just like how "The Last Song" story plot has depicted in the movie. More importantly, we ought to treasure the ones around us, our families of the utmost importance here and our friends....

Masquerade

PJ's Masquerade (12th May)

Venue: NUS University Cultural Centre (UCC)

Time: 7.30pm

It's another arts appreciation day. This is so far the third one which i've been to this year. Actually this time round, i'm quite fortunate because this ticket was actually given to me free by my cca teacher, ms chung. i didn't get to thank her personally but only managed to text her to indicate my heartfelt thanks. Still, thank you so much, ms chung! i enjoyed myself that day:)

i went along with joyce on the wednesday. Seriously speaking, i've no idea where exactly is this UCC in NUS, except knowing that NUS is located somewhere in clementi. But no worries somehow for i have Joyce to be my street directory tour guide for the day. She's from NUS, haha...Initially we saw many other pj students alighting at a much earlier stop. Joyce was pondering whether we should follow suit 'cause it's simply the whole group alighting that we are seeing here... After much considerations, we didn't. She was quite sure we should alight at a much later one and she was spot-on! This is the first time when i was not late or arriving just-on-time for a concert/performance for i have a marvellous tour guide with me! Thank you joyce:D we were really lucky on that day apart from alighting at the correct stop. The tickets that were given to us were actually different seatings, one at the upper level and another one the 1st level. we almost thought that we would have to be separated in our seatings...Fortunately, a kind soul appeared at that moment and was willing to change his tickets with us, phew! Thank you, kind soul.

What's wrong with the snapshots captured outside UCC?!? erm, i guess i've forgotten to use the red-eye reduction mode. My eyes seem to be burning with *inferno*, laughs! And well in another shot, i simply forgotten to turn on flashlight; thus, i look like a total black figurine! Still, these two failed-attempt shots are uploaded here simply because i like the "I" wording carved outside UCC. It's lovely. They actually have this whole statement: " I WAS HERE" right outside the entrance. Coincidentally, apart from me and joyce who went for this pj's masquerade concert, we bumped into our juniors, tingmin and borui. It's been ages since we last saw them. OMG!!! What a coincidence! Therefore, we definitely have to leave some shots behind as memories... (They sat right behind us!)
There were dance, choir as well as drama performances. Solely from all the performing arts group. i especially like this remix hip hop dance by the dancers up on stage. They danced along with this song "sorry sorry", imitating the famous korean dance troupe, super junior's dance movements in that song. Apart from the hip hop dance, i felt that the first item up on stage, "Sama Tak Serupa" by the Malay cultural society was a unique dance cheorographed. The pj choir had their ever longest performance, lasting up to 50 mins after the intermission with the whole of second half belonging to them. They performed songs under themes like "The Lion King", " Aladdin" etc along with the alumni's segment. Bits of drama are incorporated inside, making it more lively throughout the whole "Magnificence" performance of theirs. Speaking about my own chinese drama performance, i felt that our juniors did a great job in bringing out the emotions in the individual's character. One thing i don't quite understand is why are the audience laughing most of the times during the play. It's supposed to be a sad story. i wonder whether they're making a mockery out of it simply 'cause they don't appreciate drama plays or have they really enjoyed our drama performance...

Overall, the masquerade concert was a success! A great one, i felt so. Glad to have this opportunity to return back as a senior to root for my fellow pj's juniors in their performances.

Moments worth remembering.

It's been a year plus since i last went back to my college ever since i graduated in 2008. i have a vague memory regarding the last time when i visited the school. erm, perhaps its long ago during our juniors' syf competition. Far way back...

Time flies in the blink of an eye. i missed cds life sooOOoo much, even more than i missed the college. tsktsk. The best part of my two years college life were none other than those evening times spent rehearsing for our play with my fellow actresses and actors on stage, mingling around with the group of wonderful backstage crews. Seriously we really to credit them for such a marvellous job done on the props. Without the unity of the whole group, our achievements wouldn't come thus far...

And finally yesterday, i got to re-visit those wonderful cca days once again. Got notice from jieying (senior) a couple of days before 10th May that our juniors will be having evening rehearsal on the monday in preparation for their upcoming performance in NUS this wednesday, which is today! It's a good opportunity to meet up with my lovely batch of cds peeps and my wonderful seniors. Though not all were present yesterday, but i'm glad i actually went and have a chance to catch up with some of them there. Those laughters and chit-chatty sessions that we once had, those old jokes that we once crapped, those memorable stage life experiences that we once shared; they all came back. Those good old days are back. No doubt, a year or two has passed, but we have not changed much. We're still the same old batch of us, not much difference though... Still as crappy as before... (*laughs*)

If only time stood still then...
And that's with few captured snapshots. we have with us our own batch: me, joyce, weikiat, meiqian, ruiping, yongsheng who came back. And with our lovely bunch of seniors, jieying, fangxuan, pochieh, caoyang, yi qiang; though not all, but it's a great evening spent! That's the new batch of our juniors who will be performing in upcoming PJ's Masquerade. The play they're putting up is similar to our syf play back in 2007, perhaps with slight changes in script lines. In a way, we seniors are back to offer them some useful tips to enhance their acting skills apart from catching up with one another. i'll also be going down with joyce to NUS Cultural Centre Theatre to give them support later on. Juniors, put in your best efforts and enjoy every single moment when you're up there. Shine on stage:)

it's been long since we last catch up...

Holidays are always the best part of my life. The only time when i really get to slower down my pace, take a good look at things around me and spend more time with my family and friends. It's almost ages since i last met up with Jasmine. Finally, we get to meet up yesterday and had a great day spent over movie, arcade and a simple dinner.
A romance comedy that explores courtship, love, marriage and family in reverse.
A synopsis of "The Back-up Plan":
After years of dating, Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) has decided waiting for the right one is taking too long. Determined to become a mother, she commits to a plan, makes an appointment and decides to go it alone. On the day of her artificial insemination, Zoe meets Stan (Alex O'Loughlin) -a man with real possibilities.

Trying to nurture a budding relationship and hide the early signs of pregnancy becomes a comedy of errors for Zoe and creates confusing signals for Stan. When Zoe nervously reveals the reason for her unpredictable behavior, Stan commits fully and says he's in.

Never before has love seen a courtship where a wild night of sex involves three in a bed - Stan, Zoe and the ever-present massive pregnancy pillow. Or, where "date night" consists of being the "focal point" at a near-stranger's water birth which does for kiddie pools what "Jaws" did for swimming in the ocean.

The real pregnancy test comes when both of them realize they really do not know each other outside of hormonal chaos and birth preparations. With the nine month clock ticking, both begin to experience cold feet. Anyone can fall in love, get married and have a baby but doing it backwards in hyper-drive could be proof positive that they were made for each other.

Cast: Jennifer Lopez, Alex O'Loughlin, Noureen DeWulf.

Personally, i felt that this is quite an entertaining movie with essence of comical contents in it. i watched the 3.50pm timeslot over at jurong point's golden village with Jasmine yesterday. Intially i suggested D13, the Ultimatum which is a NC 16 show with some violence contents. The sad thing is they only have this available timeslot at 6.15pm which is quite a late session. And we changed to Back Up Plan. i didn't regret my choice watching that. It's a nice, sweet romance comedy. Some of the parts are hilarious and somewhat exaggerating. well, but all these funny and exaggerated parts will tickle you and make one burst into laughters as you're watching. It's a public place though, and i kept to my composure. But inside me, i was tickled by those funny scenes.

So what's up after movie... Jasmine suggested going to arcade and she recommended me this newer version of Bishi Bashi game where players have to help each other to meet the scores so as to move on to the next stage. There's a total of 22 stages, but sadly, we didn't manage to clear all. i'm still a noob at this new game, trying to get the hang out of it.
Bento meal for dinner. Though we were not really hungry yesterday, but we just went inside Bento restaurant for a simple dinner meal. It was a nice chat with her yesterday over meal and a memorable day spent. we shall meet up again some other days, take care girl!:) ANnnnd put your heart and soul into work... tsktsk!

Allow our creative juices to flow

Allow your imagination to run wild;
Allow your creative juices to flow.
You can easily have this notice-board, handmade personally by you for your friends' birthday. It's a sweet thought here. Something unique part of a birthday gift. The one and only found in this world which is none other than your own DIY board filled with loves♥ and beautiful memories with your friends. To spice up the board, we added on interesting, funny captions to tickle them. We have our two april birthday girls with us here. They're none other than xiaoli and xiangna. Somehow, this seems like a norm, aha's practice of belated celebration. Ever since we left secondary school, everyone has been busy with hectic school schedule and we could only find a common free timeslot during semester break. Still, apologies for this belated celebration with you girls. Thank you for your understanding:D i especially like this 6-seaters dining area in LAI LAI's restaurant. It gives a cosy feeling. We have this whole spacious area to ourselves and our laughters reverberated louder each time in our seated area. There's just too much laughing gases inside us, can't help it! (*laughs*)
Again, Dororin is missing in action. It's always hard to get her out for she is always so busy. As me and deb were designing the boards for the two birthday girls yesterday afternoon, i was pondering to myself at the same time: we hardly have a complete clique photo taken together. Not even ten, i guess! Alright, our next goal is to have more ahas' clique photo captured in the ZOO! The next upcoming activity for us, falling on 23rd May. i'm looking forward to our zoo trip 'cause this time round, we should be able to see everyone's presence. Most probably, i guess. If nothing crops up...

A carefree day

A Carefree Day

Part one of the day

1st of May, 2010 is coincidentally my cousin's birthday as well as labour day! i always like public holiday falling on weekends, especially saturday. You might be wondering why 'cause usually saturday is as well a weekend break for most. Unlike for me, i have to help my boss out on saturday, hence, most of my times were devoted to mindmatters instead. I've been waiting for this labour day for quite some while. It's time to take a one day break off from my hectic sat! How wonderful!

Anyway, this is not an entry about the birthday celebration with my cousin, instead, we actually had pre-advance Mother's Day celebration. Allow me to further elaborate on this wonderful day of mine!

Dad, me and bro brought mum to causeway point to indulge in a sumptuous lunch. It was a late lunch though. Mum had cravings for pizza, and so, we accede to her request and went for this feista combo meal, inclusive of a crunchy cheesy bites pizza, one regular pan pizza accompanied with drinks and soup of the day. All of us went for berri sparkle instead of summer sparkle. Thirst-quenching! This new crunchy cheesy bites pizza tasted not bad. i love the cheesy part with cornflakes on it.

Though there's already cheese inside the pizza itself, but you still get to dip into this rich cheese sauce. You will love this meal if you're a CHEESE-LOVER! Mum's the STAR for the day for it's a pre-advance Mother's day celebration with her. She gets to enjoy this pizza treat from us. It was a fulfilling meal despite me having only a small portion. I was trying to save my stomach for the later part of the day as i will be meeting my besties over at bishan for manhattan. Oh gosh, two good meals in one day! I'm a extravagant spender! Well, but should be alright once in a blue moon. (*laughs*) Anw, it was meant to be a treat for mum! i love this berri sparkle here. There's little chuncks of strawberries inside.
i'm a strawberry-lover:)

Part two of the day

Following up next was part two of my day. Evening dinner with sok and wk over at manhattan. Manhattan was my first try that day. I love the fish. In comparison with fish n co', i think somehow i preferred manhattan to it. The fish is very crispy on the outside, soft and fresh on the inside. i chose clam chowder over asparagus soup with an additional top-up of one buck. Erm, i think ambush's clam chowder tasted much better, tsktsk.

This was the fried dory fish i ordered. $9.90++ main course.

i really enjoyed my day. It was a good break. An opportunity for me to spend more time with my families and friends. If only it could be like this every saturday. Alright, i should not ask for that much. Actually i do feel contented helping out over at mindmatters for i've a bunch of funny colleagues over there who tends to tickle me with their lame jokes at times.

It was a carefree day spent last saturday, with no tuition, no work, free from studies stress, purely just devoting my time to my precious family and friends. I love you all. The significance of your presence.

i'm a happy girl!♥
