Are you game enough for some console thrills?

Are you game enough for some console thrills?

There's an awesome entertainment area out there along prinsep street which is a must go. Previously known as The Hangout, Playnation is founded at creating a cosy nice ambience place for youngsters to chill and have hell loads of fun with boardgamings and console games. Be it console or boardgames, it's definitely going to be a memorable and exciting stay for you there.

The more the merrier, as the saying goes. Despite having not meet up for ages, this bunch of people continues to be as crazy as before, or even more now. The fun is always there with their presence. Self entertainment, laughing at our own nonsensical selves, full of lame jokes and craps; that's what we always do. It's a norm. So long as its CDS peeps gathering together, you will never fail to witness that. i miss my seniors and we've been longing for a senior cum junior outing some time ago. Finally, it was successfully carried out on the 29th july. Though it wasn't a complete one with everyone in, however, we all had our fair share of fun that day. GREAT QUALITY TIME spent together.

Time to brief you our lined up activities for the day.
First Stop was NONE OTHER than Playnation.

You can have a go at wii or xbox over at playnation if you've yet to play one before. As we only went for console games, there were no boardgames involved. Wii was first played. With guitar hero (first game) lasting as long as two hours. SIMPLY AWESOME TO THE MAX!!! Guitar Hero is a musical game, more like a rock band game though where you can unleash your inner rock star. It consists of 2 guitarists, 1 percussionist and 1 vocalist. All in all four players are playing as though like rock band stars each time. i ♥ being a guitarist as well as a percussionist! All went well till weikiat started hogging onto the mike and singing off tune. He's trying to be funny out there but had definitely fulfilled his entertainment purposes. That's him. (*laughs*)

A joker in my clique who never fail to tickle me.

Presenting to you, this trio rock band.

(Jie ying, Eileen, Me, Fang xuan, Wei kiat, Yi Qiang)
And now presenting to you, the six of us! :D

Time flies. Our happy hour(2pm-6pm) @ playnation was over in the blink of an eye. Evening falls and its time to satisfy our hunger pangs. We came to a consensus to choose cafe cartel for dinner over the rest of the restaurants in Plaza Singapura. "Tender Chicken and Butter Tiger Prawns" was what i ordered there. Taken aback by the portion of this main course meal where it comes not only with the hotplate itself, but an additional salad side dish, not to mention my add-on soup and drinks. You can imagine how fulfilling this meal is for me that day.

Over dinner, we chatted, laughed over trivial stuffs, cam-whored etc.

With my lovely seniors♥

Our dinner and chit chatty session went beyond 9pm and this is the time when all cakes, ice-creams, beverages are going at half price over at cafe cartel. Their 50% irresistible promotion after 9pm. We went for it despite after the full meal. Eileen, jieying and me shared a maple waffle syrup served with cookies and cream ice-cream and the rest went for brownie, ice-cream sundae and cheese cake respectively. Sweet delights for the night! (Sadly, the waffle and brownie aren't under the promotion delights. we overlooked it.)

It was a lovely night spent with them. Also not forgetting the thrilling and exciting part in the afternoon with our console games as great companions. One thing to note here is wii can be real tiring. Most of us were zonked out after playing that 'cause it requires lots of vigorous hand movements. My muscles are aching even till now.

Anw, eileen brought along her EOS 550D Canon DSLR over the other day and that was the first time i actually played around with a DSLR. She took good photos of us with it. i'm coming to love dslr even more. The buttons may seem to be a lil' complicated at first but slowly, you can easily get the hang of it. Something interesting i've found out from her is you can get to choose either auto focus or manual focus. With manual focus, you can play around with the zoom in zoom out lens and capture nice focused images with blurred edges. How awesome, isn't it? DSLR does wonders.

Baby Canon, i'm bringing you home one day.

That's for now.

The addictive drug runs in me

Yes! You're right! You didn't see wrongly! It's once again another kbox session for me. We have an additional companion with us for the day, weihao! He claimed that he loves phototaking for he was once in photography club. With that, we could easily capture nice photos of our full clique gathering. Thank you, photographer weihao!:) And this time round, not just one camera, 6 different cameras (be it phone cameras or digital cameras) are going around. That explains the number of photos we're tagged individually on facebook, tsktsk! Cam-whoring Day!

It was set at AMK Hub's MOF for lunch to satisfy our hunger pangs before ksession. This particular outlet of MOF is rather big and cosy to chill with your friends. They even have sofa seats there. I guess if we're staying a bit longer, we would have moved over to those sofa seats. It was only a short lunch for we're planning to queue for koi after that. Every minute is precious if we're sticking to plan:)

i love this shot here.♥ This adds on to our collection of full clique's photos.

A more spacious room, additional of mike makes the entire four hours of k-singing a more enjoyable one. KPOP Thrill. i dislike those rooms which are squeezy, making it difficult for one to cross over to choose songs on the screen.

Speaking of koi, as promised to try out another flavour, i ordered oolong milk tea yesterday. We were planning to "smuggle" our koi into kbox secretly. The plan was a total flop. we managed to bring it in successfully at first but unfortunately in the next few minutes, the kbox waitress caught her eyes on our koi when she came into our room and confiscated them:(:( Mood Dampening! There goes my freshly made oolong milk tea. As a result, it did not taste that fantastic after end of ksession. The ice melted.
(Amk's KBox is soooo strict!)

i'm glad i actually bumped into these 5 girls in my uni life. School days are livened up with their presence. Fate plays an important part here having getting to know them. i will treasure the friendship ties we have and hope our friendship will continue to grow down the years. Well, its only the end of year one; there's still three more years to go! There are many more places out there for us to explore and seek fun together. P-L-A-Y is always in our dictionaries. And weihao is a funny chap! Somehow, he's somewhat like another guy friend of mine. haha!
Loads of fun with the peeps!

That's for now.

We're now grown ups

i believe most of your must have made some good friends ever since your primary school days and till date, you're still keeping in contact with one another. That goes to show how lasting your friendship is. It has been more than 10 over years since we last left primary school. Frankly speaking, i have a vague memory of my life in there during those days... Back then, when i was still young, i don't mingle around with that many friends except for the usual bunch of people. Today, i'm thankful that i am still in close contact with two good friends from my primary school. Our friendship bond for more than 10 over years... Sometimes it's hard to come by having to maintain such a long term friendship and i treasure that.

In the blink of an eye, we're now all grown ups. However, we hardly change a bit though. For look wise, i guess everyone has matured through the years. Having not change a bit was referred to our characters and how we often crap and joke during our "dialogue" session when we meet up each time. As usual, we feel comfortable sharing with one another about our life, our ups and downs... This is the reason why i often enjoy sitting down, chatting with friends over a cup of coffee 'cause this is the best time to catch up with one another especially after you've not seen them for so long. In fact for me and my two primary school mates, we are not the ones who often meet up, sometimes even as long as a year. But, we are not strangers to one another though. we're still good friends, good buddies.

Finally, the three musketeers' meet-up was a success back on the 22nd july. we have planned to catch an evening movie, inception over at Bishan's GV. It was still quite some time away from movie and we decided to get some koi first to satisfy our desires.

For myself, i had a new try. ICE-CREAM Milk Tea flavour. In comparison with the previous one (original milk tea) which i had, sadly there's lesser pearls for the ice-cream flavour one. i love the pearls from koi. It's fresh and chewy! Perhaps during my next try, i will go for oolong milk tea or some chocolate flavour ones.

There's still more years down the road...

INCEPTION INCEPTION INCEPTION

A dream within a dream...

Here's the trailer:

The mind manipulating, brain-bending Inception is the defining movie of the season, if not the entire year. It's one of those ultra rare movies that actually lives up to the hype and even surpasses the most fanatical expectations.

That's for now.

There's always a backup plan

When plan A failed, there's always a plan B to act as backup. Choosing a place for outing is important just in case if premediated plan failed, there's always some other things to keep you occupied for the day. K-session was a total flop that day. The duration to sing was too short as we did not book a room in advance. Despite having the 8 nett promotion, still, it was not worthwhile to sing just only for two hours. With the initial thought of catching a movie together after ksession plan failed, it was once again another flop. The second failed attempt for the day.

Eventually, the day was spent playing pool and arcade after lunch at secret recipe.

That day was the very first time we played pool together.

There are different strategies in playing pool. Ultimately, the one who gets the black ball in after every other ball is hit in wins the game. Somehow after this game, we came to realize there are good players inside our clique. It's not just a game of pool alone, but to learn from and share tips with one another.

After knowing one another for quite some time, almost near to a year, it dawned upon me that we have never once been to arcade as a whole before. The common hot favourite games are none other than daytona, time crisis, bishi bashi, taxi driver game etc. we tried them all. i had a whale of time with the girls over at marina square's arcade. For once, i felt as though i've returned back to my teenage years. This was one of my favourite pastimes then.

The next time round, we're not gonna' miss k-session again. Probably, on the next monday?:)

That's for now.

i can't be tamed...

Apologies for this really late and long entry. i've been kept busy with school experience for the past one week plus till there's insufficient time for me to take a second look at my blog and start blogging a new entry. It was really an exhausting week. Having to wake up at 6am during the primary school observation period was already a chore, and worst still, 5.30am every morning during the secondary school observation period. i know i should not be complaining about loss of sleep here for its going to be the same lifestyle once i step foot into the actual teaching career. Allow me to rant about it here first before i don't get a chance to in future. i still regard this as my honeymoon period though...

Amidst that busy week, there's still the existence of fun. You know that, i'm a person who balance my life. It's not all about work and studies, we need our own playtime as well. And so, i chilled out with two different groups of friends on respective days after my observation. Despite already overcomed by fatigue, i still carried on the meeting plan with them... sorry, i just can't be tamed...tsktsk!;)

So here they are,

Dated back on the 7th of July, the ahas celebrated deb's 20th birthday with her over at manhattan. The strength was only four as two others were down due to their busy schedules. Despite that, we still carried on with the birthday plan (premediated surprise). She was taken aback when the waitress walked towards her with a brownie ice-cream cake. Overall, the surprise was a success.

Despite a year older for her, its going to be a better year ahead. Just like fine wine, we grow better with the years.

Dated back on the 8th July...

A hunt down at ikea with two other besties last thursday after my school experience. That was the thing which kept me motivated till the end of the morning session and i left exactly on the dot at 1pm. Coincidentally deb was asking whether i'm free to lunch with her after we knock off at one. i accompanied her. Though it was only a short lunch, i managed to capture some photos with our birthday girl(Deb) and that's the second day i'm celebrating with her.

Soon after that, i proceeded off to meet wk at cck platform and we headed down to woodlands first before changing to the next mode of transportation, boarding on bus 168 from woodlands interchange straight down to tampines ikea. Usually if you were to take mrt down to tampines, it will take you at most 50mins, however, the bus ride only took us 35 minutes to reach our destination. It was a pretty fast ride with wk as companion and given the fact that the bus does not stop that often as it mostly travels on the expressway.
Tampines ikea is somewhat sok's territory. It was my first visit there. The first impression of it is its GIGANTIC!!! They have this huge warehouse in ikea where all the stocks are kept

This is exactly how the warehouse area looks like.
This cafe restaurant at level one sells delicious and cheap hotdog combo at only 2 bucks! i love ikea's hotdogs. In fact, we all love it. sok and wk will never fail to add in the mustard together with chilli sauce. For me, i'm just only having it with chilli sauce for mustard sauce isn't to my liking. Aside to this hotdog combo, the cafe also sells yummy quick bites like curry puffs at only 90cents each. After the first taste, i felt as though i was eating old chang kee's curry puff. Ikea's curry puff has equally nice fillings inside in comparison with old chang kee's and in fact the egg is bigger! Not forgetting the vanilla ice-cream going at 1 buck per cone, you've got to try them.

After the short quick bite, the hunt began. we went on to explore this gigantic furniture store. There are few showrooms where their display of furnitures and designs attracted our attention. we liked the colour combination used, mainly black, white and grey mixture which gives the room a cosy and classy feel. If you have the intention to revamp your house and are currently contemplating of which kind of furniture designs to go for, you might want to consider ikea for they have nice designs in there and the furnitures are not charged at a exorbitant price. It's affordable and you can have a go at DIY-ING your own house!

There are many other fanciful toys under the children's section which caught our attention. Cute, soft fluffy toys for you to cuddle! we were especially interested in those doggy soft toys and we really have the urge to cuddle them back home. i also chanced upon handmade finger puppets which come in a whole packet. A pity i didn't capture any photos of them. They're kawaii.

Ikea is well-known for delectable quickbites and and main courses in their cafe restaurants. Apart from the hotdog combo, they have crispy chicken wings which are finger-licking good as well as meatball meal where the meatballs are tasty and they blend well with the sauce. It's time to dig in during evening time and we indulge in a variety of palatable food. Indeed a sumptuous dinner meal. Night falls soon and we headed back home on our bus ride... i simply just zonked out straight after washing up.

i'm thankful for my bunch of friends who has always been there for me. i always love their presence and i enjoy their company. Especially when the trio gets together, there's no absence of fun and laughters. Time spent is always insufficient and we can never have enough of it. Another week is coming to an end, i'm hoping for a next outing soon. tsktsk. Love you all.

That's for now.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

In the Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between Edward and Jacob, knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.
(Main cast crews: Kristen Stewart(Bella), Robert Pattinson(Edward), Taylor Lautner(Jacob))

Rachel and I are twilight fans, not really die hard fans though... Still remember last year we accompanied each other to watch new moon. This year was no difference; we went on to catch eclipse together when it was first released on 1st of July. The cinema over at amk is awesome. I've never been to amk's theatre and the moment i stepped in there, i was awed by the red spacious seats. The seats are very comfortable and me and rac got a couple seat which is like super spacious. We've no idea how we managed to get that seat, but anyway it was so worth the ticket price having to watch my favourite movie in a nice cosy theatre. Only 6 bucks for that day and it was booked in advance the previous day. (i just come to realize you can actually purchase movie tickets the day before without any additional charges.)

This is amk's cinema theatre.

we satisfy our hunger pangs by indulging in new york new york before the movie. i ordered this fried chicken with mozzarella cheese. It was a good try. The mozzarella cheesy fried chicken tasted not bad. However, the serving is a huge portion. It's too filling for me. Soon after lunch, me together with rac along with her boyfriend went to play pool to kill some time before our eclipse movie commences. It was a 3.50pm show.

Eclipse wasn't a letdown. Back then i didn't really like the new moon's story plot in the movie. It ended off too abruptly. This time round, personally i feel that eclipse is much better than new moon. I would say it's the best among the rest of the twilight saga series, except for breaking dawn which is yet to be aired. New characters are introduced in eclipse- The Newborns. As the malicious vampire, Victoria continues her quest for revenge, Bella is once again surrounded by danger. The newborns are all ready to hunt her down with her scent. This makes the whole movie nerve-wrecking and i could feel the adrenaline rush during some parts of the movie in eclipse. Heart palpitation, cold sweat... i experienced all those throughout the movie. Other than the nerve-wrecking part, the funny part of the movie was when Edward and Jacob were both fighting over Bella. Both their jealousy, it's really cute! (*laughs*)

Thumbs Up for this movie, eclipse:D

That's for now. School Practicum commencing tomorrow...

singing indulgence

i didn't expect singing to be one of my favourite pastimes nowadays. i've to admit that i've been to k-session with friends multiple times this semester break till friends would actually give me a title, "TRUE KBOXER QUEEN" (*laughs*). It didn't dawn upon me till i browse through my past blog entries and facebook ablums that i've actually visit it more than 3 times within a month or two. Indeed, it's fun singing and i'm coming to love it even more... It can't be blamed especially during this period when they're still having this irresistible offer of 8nett per pax in celebration of their 8th year anniversary this year. Promotion is valid all the way till mid-october. So hurry, if you have yet to go! This is too good an opportunity to miss. Where on earth can k-session be as cheappp as this?!?

Accompanied with my uni friends (the flowers clique), we made a trip down to amk to sing. We chose a central location which would be convenient for everyone. It has been sooooO long since we last met up since the previous gathering, which was also ksession. The previous one was a full clique outing, but not this time round... Two had to absent themselves for their staff meeting in their allocated primary school coincidentally falls on the same day. (no worries yue lian and shu wen, we'll hold one more after the practicum!)

It's also a ritual norm for flowers to capture multiple photos every outing. i brought along my camera as well. They're surprised 'cause they thought i didn't have one.

Both me and vivian love big watches. They're our favourites! Coincidentally both our watches are white in colour! Just that one is adidas brand and another is puma!

Candid shots add on to the fun. we had a few funny shots and in one of them vivian said she couldn't help but laugh at my expression. Somehow i felt that i look kinda' retarded in it, but somewhat cute. haha!

After the 4 hours plus of k-session, we proceeded to amk hub to have our dinner. Pepper Lunch for dinner. Something sizzling hot to satisfy our hunger pangs. i ordered this chicken and beef pepper lunch. It was nice cooking the beansprouts, corns, chicken and beef on the hot plate, as though back to the stone age times...

Practicum is drawing near. It's not teaching assistantship this semester, but school experience. Guess it's gonna' be interesting observing different levels in school and we'll have to do a reflection thereafter, i guess so. This is a good opportunity for us to pick up useful pointers from experienced teachers; their approaches and teaching methodologies. There's so much more to learn...

That's for now.
