Hang on there

Life has never get any better ever since the commencement of this semester. With increasing workloads each day, it's almost impossible for you to continue slacking any further. Unlike the previous semester when i almost led a carefree life in school, this semester is a huge difference. Year two's workloads are much more demanding and overwhelming. Worst still, the modules taken this semester have lots of contents for you to digest and before you knew it, report assignments, presentations are nearing datelines! How on earth can we have sufficient time to accomplish our tasks within such a short time frame?!? Seriously, this is not a good life.
Fast paced, stressful and hectic lifestyle.
This is part of our curriculum and there is no way we can avoid. No doubt the journey is going to get tougher, but we just have to hang on there and give one another the support. Things will be fine as you go on. I've just completed my first presentation for AED201 module. I think my group did ok for most of our audiences were engaged in our Amazing Race activity. On the flip side of the coin, there were also some flaws pointed out by one or two audiences which my group has overlooked. Seriously speaking, given the time constraint as we were the first group to present, it's kind of rush to complete everything perfectly within a week. I guess we did our best. Prof said he'll take into consideration we're the first group to present and maybe be a little more lenient. i hope so. Still, overall it was not too bad a start. Anddd finally one is down!

Amidst all these stress, i'll find my own ways to de-stress. You have to balance your life and not just spend your time solely on studying. i believe most of your out there will agree this fact with me. For myself, i'm always glad i have wonderful friends as companions on a weekend night. For once, i'll forget all my troubles and stress when with them.

Thank you guys♥

God bless all.

Bem vindo ao Nando's

Photobucket

Thankfully to this public holiday due to Hari Raya, it was another happening outing day with that two besties of mine. We sticked on to the plan of visiting Nando's restaurant for lunch. It was a first time visit to Nando's eatery for the three of us. All along i had this impression that Nando's eatery sells Indian food. I was wrong. In fact, they sell mexican food! Nando's restaurant is of high popularity in Bugis given the long queue. Wk was queueing for us while me and Sok went off to Iluma for a short while to get some koi bubble tea to quench our thirst.

After queueing for about 20minutes...

we finally got our seats!

Wk ordered a 1/4 chicken with two sidelines main course under the chicken meals section with an add-on soup. As you can see in the below photo, it definitely looks enticing for meat lover. Choice of sidelines to choose from are: peri peri chips, old style chips, Mediterranean rice, coleslaw, peri potato salad...etc.

As for me and Sok, we shared this Espetada Rustica under their signature dishes.

There are 4 pieces of chicken thighs stuffed with sun-dried tomatoes and skewered with red onions, served with two sidelines. We chose the same two sidelines for both main courses. The peri peri chips and mediterranean rice. Looks tempting huh? Especially the four big pieces of juicy chicken thighs.

One can also choose from extra hot peri peri to hot peri peri to mild peri peri to lemon and herbs. And according to them, you should start with lemon and herb if it's your first time at Nando's, and go for mild peri peri if you're feeling adventurous or evoke tears of joy with Extra Hot Peri Peri. we went for the mild peri peri. We would say Nando's food have their own unique taste(sour spicy). It's more like a mexican dish as mentioned earlier with a piquant taste of strong spices. This wasn't so much to our liking. Perhaps we're just not used to this kind of taste. However, it was not bad a try!

After this filling lunch plus a hearty breakfast in the early morning, we went on to shop around Bugis. To be exact, i'm just accompanying my friend for some shoppings. I'm no longer that fascinated with shopping ever since i returned back from Bangkok. The reason being i've already bought most of my tops, bottoms from there at a cheappp price! No point shopping that often in Singapore now since the stuffs here are more costly. Furthermore, my wardrobe is almost full! I guess if time allows, i would love to return back bkk next year and bring home another bag of clothings to feed my wardrobe that will last for the next one year. Yearly shopping rather. tsktsk.
Anyway, back to my bugis trip. Despite we were all full, somehow we got tempted by Chewy Junior's and ended up having small quite bites of sugar sticks before heading back home.

we're cam-whores:)

If only time freezes at this moment.

New semester has commenced. It's once again the hectic and stressful school life whenever a new semester begins. This first part of year two is going to be a short semester. Time is tight, yet we have many tasks on hand to meet datelines. i shall endure. Freedom will be here in another 11 weeks's time.

That's for now.

weather is perfectly fine for a ride

The idea of going to the beach was long planned with them ever since couple of months ago. Unfortunately, it wasn't a feasible plan back then for we're all occupied with studies and work stuffs... Still we did not give up the idea of going to the beach for picnic cum cycling for we believe the plan will be successfully implemented one day.

Finally, on one fine Sunday, this beach plan was successfully carried out. It was kind of a random decision. All of a sudden, we came to a consensus the day before when we met up on our usual saturday's evening. Can't help it given our extemporaneous personalities by nature, haha! It was SO SO SO RANDOM!

However, the plan had to be postponed initially when it was raining cats and dogs on the Sunday's morning. As predicted over the weather forecast, Sok told us that it will be a straight 5 hours heavy rain islandwide. How true can the weather forecast prediction be?!

With that, we decided to change our beach plan to shopping instead. And now the problem comes in...Which good places in Singapore to shop? AMK Hub, Orchard, Bugis...etc. We didn't manage to reach a consensus for a suitable place to shop and chill-out and we simply just board the train and head down to the east... As the train moves on further down, we notice a change of weather. Sky was not overcast, black ominous clouds were no longer seen... The weather is getting more sunny. Weather should be fine for a ride, we thought. Most importantly, our cycling plan need not be postponed! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a whole load of fun despite cycling for only two hours at the beach. The weather was bright and sunny. It's unlike what was predicted over the weather forecast. Even heaven is on our side! We rented two different bikes, one of the normal single bike and another one was the double bike. We cycled in the wrong direction at first and upon coming to a dead end junction, we made a U-turn to the opposite direction for better scenic views:) It was a nice ride along the way. With Sok as my front cyclist on the double bike, i feel so safe seated behind while capturing snapshots of the captivating scenery along the way... And of course, wk hopped onto the single bike. After cycling for a short while, we stopped over at this Bedok Jetty and this was the place where we captured some nice photos together as a trio clique along with some fun jump shots!!! (Thank you photographer Sok for helping me and wk with those jump shots!)

It has been quite some time since we last had such a wonderful trio outing together. Though it's only few hours of fun, but we treasure those times spent with one another. Happy moments are always transient, but the memories that we once shared will always be there...

Cherish our friendship

Hope you've once again enjoyed my self-edited video!♥♥

i would love to go marina barrage for picnic some days too. I've long heard about this place and seen nice photos from friends' ablum as posted on facebook. I'm sure it'll be a nice place for a first time visit!

That's for now.

Jetstar Airline

i promised to rant about my Jetstar flight after my return back from Bangkok. My friends and i were utterly displeased with the services and attitudes of the customer service officers from Jetstar Airline. Dated back on 16th August 2010, the day of our departure, we missed our flight due to the congested traffic jam in Bangkok. The distance back hotel isn't that far away but it took us exactly one hour to reach back our hotel mainly because of the jam. By then, we knew that time is tight and we hurriedly flag a cab from the hotel and head straight down to the Suvarnabhumi Airport(BKK). Still, we missed our flight in the end. Upon knowing that the boarding gate is closed and we're unable to check in our baggages, we immediately called up Jetstar Airline and told one of the officers about our situation. We asked whether they would be able to help us rebook the earliest return flight back Singapore. However, the person returned us with a "I don't know" remark! What kind of attitude is this, seriously?!? The person who picked up our call simply did not offer much help to us when she heard of our plight. To add on to this, my friend's call was then diverted overseas to Jetstar's headquarter in Australia for we wanted to seek help with regards to our flight issue. She held on to the call for as long as 25minutes only to find out that the person hung up the phone on her when it got through finally.

This is not the kind of service we are expecting from Jetstar Airline or any other airlines given our plight. Your officer should, or at least, have offered to help us rebook our return flight, or provide us with possible alternatives to our situation. Imagine having almost "stranded" there for a day in Bangkok when you missed your flight? How worrying can that be for your families back in Singapore? Of course, we're not trying to push the entire blame to Jetstar Airline on the flight issue. We're partly at fault for missing our flight for we didn't expect there would be such a bad jam in Bangkok at that time. i'm just disappointed with the services provided by Jetstar customer service officers. Deborah and I have earlier wrote in a complaint letter to their airline and hopefully they'll look into this matter and improve their services thereafter.
