Channel 8's private screening

Channel 8's Private Screening- C.L.I.F

Always, i've been an avid fan of Channel 8's drama shows since young and would never fail to catch the drama promptly at 9pm every weekday. Currently on air is this "The In-Laws(麻婆斗妇)" with my favourite star-Rui en, starring in the show. As most should have known by now, there's also this upcoming star-studded drama titled "C.L.I.F(警徽天职)" right after the end of 麻婆斗妇. Judging from the advertisements, you know that this is definitely a MUST watch show 'for alone the short trailers aired on tv are simply thrilling and exciting.

Once again, i'm so honoured to be able to receive this exclusive invite, this time round from Channel 8 to attend the private screening of C.L.I.F last Friday. Having this rare opportunity to watch the highly anticipated drama show ahead of others is really cool and i'm thankful to Channel 8 for selecting me as one of their 20 bloggers to cover this exciting event. As you know that i'm someone who is interested in this kind of police investigative thriller show, you can imagine my excitement for the whole of that week, anticipating the arrival of friday's event then.

The event was held at Sinema Old School.
For this private screening, i was able to bring along a friend and sok was my companion for the day. Sinema Old School is located somewhere at a hilltop and huff and puff we made our way up this really long stretch of staircase before reaching our destination. The crowd was there way before us. Mainly the fan clubs and few other bloggers. well, but we're not late! haha.

The theatre is located at Level 2 and we were barred from entry till about 7.30pm when it is nearing the event's commencement time. Meanwhile, we proceeded into an air-conditioned shop whereby we get to exchange our coupons for popcorns and drinks. The whole atmosphere feels as though we're going into the cinema to catch a movie minutes later...

Bloggers had the priviledges to take the first two row seats whereas those fan clubs took the seats behind us. It was definitely a good view from my center seat! Some of the fanclubs as seen from the below photos: Rebecca's, Joanne's, Elvin's...etc. That's not all. There are more to it.

The drinks and gourmet popcorns we got from the shop. Thanks for the munchies! Good combination to go along with a theatre show.

The event commenced at about 8pm. First on stage is definitely the host before the introduction of casts. And we have got Ben Yeo as our host for the day! He's a funny chap! we were entertained by him before the main casts of the show entered. Ben took a quick look around the entire theatre and he noticed the different fan clubs coming to support their respective idols. Just then, Elvinology exclaimed: “我们要黄俊雄!” Ben replied saying that “不要以为黄俊雄没有来,等一下你们就不尖叫!我注意你们很久了!”(Haha). He also mentioned if they want Elvin Ng, he can be seen in the show later! LOL.

Soon, we welcomed the arrival of the main casts with applause. First entered was Tay Ping Hui, followed by Joanne Peh, Chris Tong, Aileen Tan, Rayson Tan and then Romeo Tan. The artistes line-up for the day! A pity Elvin was not there. i would love to see him in person.

The casts introduced themselves and a general description of the the show. There were some humourous contents in between. Such like Aileen Tan who mentioned that we have to support this show of theirs, a little support will do if not they "没得捞" (Haha). If i'm not wrong, Rayson Tan also mentioned "Power Rangers" who referred to the team, they as the police investigative officers in the show. It was entertaining throughout this short casts introduction session. Afterwhich, the celebrities proceeded to the back row along with the host, took their seats and all ready to watch this 45minutes' first episode (minus the commercial breaks) with the audience.

C.L.I.F. stands for "Courage", "Loyalty", "Integrity" and "Fairness", which are the core values of the Singapore Police Force. It is a collaboration with the Singapore Police Force that aims to create a drama of unprecedented realism which helps viewers understand how police officers operate in their workforce. Judging from the advertisements and poster boards, the trailers and the photos are simply thrilling and realistic that you ought not to miss it! The first episode started out in Thailand and it was about riots. Scenes of riots that occurred first in Thailand, then in Singapore. Explosive bombs, fights, tactical assault vehicles(shiny red trucks)...were featured. How real can all these be! Just so convincing!

Apart from that, we have to give credits to our dear artistes for their remarkable acting skills. I believed that they had put in a lot of efforts, undergone tough trainings in the police unit in order to portray their individual roles well. This filmed drama wouldn't be a successful one without a good script, sound effects and animations, most importantly, marvellous acting skills from our celebrities. For a moment, I feel as though the main casts who appeared in the first episode of the show are REAL police investigative officers in reality. That's how good they can be! Everything is so real and convincing!

Anyway, Elvin is a funny one when he appeared in episode one and he took on a different character this time round. Well, but no doubt he's a policeman himself in the show. I'm not going to reveal the entire thing here. You shall watch to find out for yourself!

Don't miss this show, seriously!

No videos and photography were allowed during the show. Nevertheless, you can still watch the opening and the different trailer segments below.

Joanne posed for me. How nice of her!:)

That's not the end to it. Apart from watching the first episode, there's also a Q & A session right after that whereby 8 lucky winners will get to walk away with some goodies. My friend and I were really fortunate to be one of the lucky winners. The host, Ben Yeo asked both of us these questions respectively. "What does C.L.I.F stands for?" & "At the riot scene in Thailand, what did Ping Hui say before he deployed the baton?". Mine was the harder one. When the question was first being asked, it stumped the whole audience. No one could really answer it except Tay Ping Hui himself as that's one of his lines in the script. The host was kind enough to say out the answer once, then he picked someone to recite the answer after him. I decided to give it a go and in the end i got it! Woots! Thank you Ben Yeo:)

Goodies brought back.

Interesting huh?! This turns out to be a USB mouse. So useful!

After the entire thing, we could also take photos with the celebrities. A pity some of them were blurred and i missed the chance to take photos individually with Joanne Peh and Tay Ping Hui.(Though in the past, i did take once with both of them... that was like ages ago, lol.)

More photos below. Happy browsing:D
